Yes. Clio has built-in legal settlement software powered by LawPay (they even cover LawPay`s $20 monthly fee). In addition, they have billing and accounting integrations that allow you to take advantage of a variety of online payment options. Clio is a leading provider of cloud-based case management and customer onboarding software. Comprehensive case management, advanced document management and faster invoicing. I love the Matter dashboard, which displays contacts, finances, case details, and it has its own feed that tracks all actions like calendar entries, uploaded notes, time entered, and everything else on one page. I like the reports, which are very easy to use and set up to be very intuitive to use. If your practice relies in any way on merging documents from case management templates, make sure you understand clio`s limitations before choosing this software. We recently tried to switch to Clio and found that the way this software is structured makes it impossible to adapt it to our needs. We are a high-volume practice, which means we rely heavily on document templates to get things done. In particular, we do a lot of medical record requests and have clients who may have a dozen different medical providers. In its current iteration, Clio makes it impossible to effectively generate these requirements.
The root of the problem is that the software only allows you to generate models based on “matter” fields. It does not allow you to create templates based on the “Contact” fields. The result is that you basically need to create a unique material field and template for each contact in order to generate letters to the contact. It`s heavier than writing each letter from scratch. Or you may need to generate a template and cut and paste all the relevant contact information, which negates the purpose of the merge templates. If you only write to “clients” or “opposing lawyers” or “adjusters” or another entity that finds it easy to give a clear designation, then Clio might be sufficient, but that`s not the case with us. “In the past, billing could take days. But with Clio, billing for legal aid is so much easier. The dashboard allows me to see everything at a glance and see that everything is correct. I`ve been using Clio since I opened my office over 3 years ago. Having used many other practice management programs over the previous 13 years, I can`t imagine using any program other than Clio. I love the fact that no matter what kind of law you practice, there are so many apps that sync with Clio to make your business more efficient.
Plus, I can access Clio from anywhere with my phone or tablet. I`m also impressed with the new Clio released last fall. It is faster than the latest version and has updated features. Clio has a great support team, so they`re always just a click or call away. This program is so easy to use that even those who are not so “computer smart” can easily navigate the program. I recommend Clio to anyone I meet who needs to change or is considering changing their practice management program. I highly recommend Clio! Clio Manage is a powerful, innovative and user-friendly legal practice management software (LPMS). It is a platform that welcomes and promotes integration. This is one of its greatest strengths. Clio has an extensive application directory and an open API.
It works and works well with an almost overwhelming amount of legal technology. In addition, it is part of the entire Clio suite. This means you can add Clio Grow (an admission CRM) seamlessly, but at an additional cost. Imagine that all your programs are connected in one place and work together? Clio makes this possible. More than 200 applications are already integrated into Clio. Bring it all together by connecting your email, telephony, accounting, advanced document management and more to Clio! No matter how you bill, what types of legal issues are resolved, or what types of customers you serve, Clio can be used to customize your workflow. And if you can`t do it with Clio, there`s probably an ad that syncs with Clio. Probably the best thing about Clio is that they`ve opened up their program so that other technical experts can create tools that sync with Clio (such as accounting and time tracking software). This has allowed our office to automate a variety of tasks, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and creating documents. And it really speaks to the core value of Clio that makes it so remarkable. Clio is here to serve its customers.
Big problem! They still float there because there is a workaround to locate them in most cases, but the software hasn`t been working properly for WEEKS. In the meantime, I turn to Clio and all I get from them is, “We`re looking at this.” Follow them as they commit and learn how to grow and grow their new legal business. We moved our business to Clio around 2015 and have been using it ever since. It`s certainly not perfect, but for timing, the customer portal, and the LawPay integration, it`s fantastic. Invoices are awkward to generate, but once you get the hang of it, you can get it pretty quickly. Contact management is the worst possible; It doesn`t manage multiple clients for the same thing at all, it doesn`t sync well with Google Contacts, and we`ve had almost impossible time to get all the fields we want in contacts. Also, the program is NOT cheap, and it seems that we should get a lot more reporting features than at our price level. BUT, these things said, we still love it and I still think it was a better decision overall than any other practice management solutions we`ve looked at.
Clio was the key to enabling us to grow from a firm of two lawyers to a firm now of 6 lawyers. It`s easy to set up and get started. Even for small teams, the price is excellent. However, for more robust features, Clio can be quite expensive for teams of 10 or more people. In addition, the reporting and mobile app are not ideal for management and owners. We plan to move to a more robust platform next year. My small California family law firm has been enjoying using Clio for about 6 years. However, with the new Clio updates, it takes at least 10 times longer to generate an invoice, as was the case with the original Clio.
If we generate hundreds of bills every month, it is not a time spent that we are ready to absorb. We contacted Clio about the issue but they didn`t respond. Unfortunately, we are now purchasing a new practice management software. Clio works for what we need! We are a solo practice, and our lawyer believes in mobility. We have 3 offices. We also have virtual paralegals to do special work. We love how Clio integrates with ClicktoFile, Lawpay and One Drive. B@DL integration of document management and the support that does not respond are my problems. Support is great if they can fix something right away. Usually, it`s a good thing to be scaled up to the higher levels, but with Clio, escalation seems to mean they`ll ignore the problem and only send regular email updates that say, “We`re working on this, but no solution yet.” I`m the office manager/paralegal of the lawyer I work for and I love it.
